Mariah Carey gives birth to twins on wedding anniversary

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon welcome a daughter and a son on the day of their wedding anniversary.

Pop songstress Mariah Carey, 42, gave birth to a boy and a girl on Saturday (April 30) at 12:07 p.m ET at an undisclosed hospital in Los Angeles, three years to the day of her marriage to Nick Cannon, 30, reports People.

"My wife just gave me the most incredible anniversary gift ever in life! I won’t ever be able to top this!" Cannon wrote on Twitter.

Carey’s rep Cindi Berger was asked if the couple had planned the birth for the date of their anniversary, and she responded, “No, not even Mariah could plan that.”

The little girl weighed 5 pounds and 3 ounces and measured 18 inches, while her brother weighed 5 pounds and 6 ounces and measured 19 inches.

"I spoke to both of them and they are both completely overjoyed,” said the rep. “Nick was very nervous and Mariah was completely calm. Mariah thought it was another soft labor and Nick was driving her to the hospital and she was very calm and the music was blasting.

“When they walked into the hospital, [Nick] was going the wrong way and the nurse redirected them to go the maternity ward, and I said to her, ‘that’s right out of ‘I Love Lucy,’’ and she laughed."

The twins’ names have not been made public yet. In January, Cannon said that the couple was planning something unique but not “crazy names like Carburetor or something.”
