Lil Wayne’s upcoming album, Tha Carter IV, delayed for more than a month, is now due out June 21 instead of May 16, reports NY Mag.
When Wayne first announced the original release date, he said that the album was finished and ready to go, making the unexplained delay that much more mysterious.
"Tha Carter IV is done. All they need to do is tell [manager Cortez "Tez" Bryant] to stop sitting on it," Wayne said in March. "It can come out tomorrow ’cause I’m so finished. But you know, Tez likes to sit on stuff."
The 28-year-old Wayne was incarcerated in March last year, and finished serving his eight-month sentence for criminal possession of a weapon in November.
While still in jail, the hip hop musician released his eighth studio album, I Am Not a Human Being. The album, featuring big-name artists such as Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Jay Sean, debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 chart in September
