Beastie Boys for their right to party…again

Band releases Fight for Your Right Revisited short film with celebrity cameos.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the release of their hit single Fight For Your Right (To Party!), the Beastie Boys have remade their iconic music video as a short comedy film starring several major celebrities, reports Spinner.

Seth Rogen, Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly, Jack Black, Elijah Wood, Susan Sarandon, Ted Danson and several other Funny or Die! regulars appear in the new short, titled Fight for Your Right Revisited.

The film was shot in New York, and features several of the celebrities dressed up like the musicians in the original 1986 video.

Directed by band member Adam Yauch, Revisited follows two fighting factions of Beastie Boys’ stand-ins – their present and future selves – as they take a drug and booze-fueled trip around the city.

Coming in at a little over 20 minutes, the short is filled with raunchy humor and celebrity cameos, and even gives Ferrell his own cowbell solo – a shout-out to the legendary "Needs More Cowbell" sketch from a 2000 episode of Saturday Night Live.
