Sad news for Annie Lennox fans after the British pop singer announced her touring days were over. At 56, Lennox said she found life on the road “mentally and physically” exhausting.
Having toured since the 1970s, the former Eurythmics member cites health issues like foot and back problems as part of the reason for her decision, and in recent years has focused more on her philanthropy work.
"You’ve sent in the most lovely comments, and it’s kind of thrilling to get replies from as far as Hawaii to Poland!” noted the singer on her Facebook page. “I doubt that I’ll ever tour again because quite honestly… it just wears me out mentally and physically, and my back and left foot are rubbish."
"In any case, I think I spent enough time waiting in cars, hotel rooms and dressing rooms… In the future performers will tour by hologram on a regular basis… love Annie."
