Three new U.S. ports for Disney cruise ships

New York, Seattle and Galveston will board passengers in 2012.

Beginning next year, Disney cruise ships will set sail from three new ports in the United States – New York, Seattle, and Galveston – in order to make the cruises more accessible to Americans.

“In 2012, we’re making it easier than ever for families to enjoy a Disney Cruise Line vacation by offering cruises from a variety of regional homeports,” said Disney Cruise Line President Karl Holz.  “Guests can now enjoy a magical, one-of-a-kind Disney cruise experience with the convenience of departures from their own backyard.”

As of May 25, 2012, the cruise line will offer 8-night cruises from New York south to the Bahamas, and 5-day cruises up the New England coastline to Canada, plus a 2-night sample weekend cruise.

From Galveston, as of September 27, 2012, the line will offer a 7-night Caribbean cruise to Grand Cayman and Mexico. The Seattle schedule will offer a 7-night Alaska tour as of May 28, 2012.

The cruise line will continue to offer Mexican cruises from the Port of Los Angeles, and Caribbean and Bahamian destinations from Port Canaveral, Florida.
