Claudia Schiffer has designs on cashmere

German supermodel creates cozy sweater collection.

After rejecting numerous offers to lend her name to a fashion collection, German supermodel Claudia Schiffer has finally found a project that interests her, reports Coco Perez.

The 40-year-old mother of three admitted: "Over the years a lot of companies have said, ‘Please give us your name, endorse our product’. I’ve said no to so many things that were very lucrative but I couldn’t put my name to something I didn’t really love."

Finally, Schiffer has finally found a project that interests her, and she’s teamed up with German knitwear brand Iris von Arnim to create a collection of cashmere sweaters. The beauty explained that she loves cashmere and is always drawn to it when she goes shopping.

“I wanted to do cashmere because when I go into a store, it’s what I’m drawn to before anything else.”

The casual pieces in the fall-winter Claudia Schiffer line are based on her own wants and needs as a working mother – pieces that are versatile and comfortable while running around after children.

"I just want some throw-on pieces where you don’t have to worry about your bra strap showing,” said the busy mother of son Caspar, 8, and daughters Clementine, 6, and Cosima, 11 months. “All I want is a big sweater. It’s all based on my everyday life – what I, as a working mom want."

“The idea of it is effortless chic—it’s based on my life and the clothes I need,” Schiffer said. “I have 15 minutes to get dressed in the morning before taking the children to school—I want to throw on clothes but still look chic, then I want to go from school to a meeting and then out for dinner by only changing a handbag or a necklace or something.”

The Claudia Schiffer collection will be available next season from $400 to $2,040.
