Burlesque artist, actress and model Dita Von Teese is launching her own collection of lingerie for women of all shapes and sizes, reports Coco Perez.
Von Teese has just signed a global deal with Australian company Lime Door, giving her part ownership in several fashion brands. Her first collection features a line of lingerie designed for everyone from an XS to an E-cup.
"I love lingerie that fits well and is also beautiful, bringing function together with glamor and sensuality," said the burlesque star. "I am especially excited to be designing lingerie with a vast sizing range so that women of all shapes and sizes can have a beautiful, sensual lingerie wardrobe that suits their body type."
"Indulging in elegant lingerie isn’t about the seduction of another person, it’s about seducing yourself first and embracing womanhood and femininity."
Her debut collection will launch in Australia later this year and will reach the UK in 2012. No release date has been announced for the North American market. The company also hopes to introduce a collection of dresses along with several other fashion projects.
"Dita Von Teese is world-renowned as a burlesque performer. She is probably best described as an old-school Hollywood siren," said Lime Door CEO Michele Hamdorf, explaining the company’s partnership with the fashionable model.
"With a Twitter following over 674,000, Dita Von Teese is arguably one of the biggest global style icons of today."
