The good old hockey game to be honored at Espace 400e in Quebec

The exhibition, Le Hockey dans la peau (Hockey In The Skin) will take place in Quebec City, July through November.

Anyone who sets foot on Canadian soil quickly learns that hockey is our religion. If they arrive in summer however, they’ll may be disappointed to know they’ve lmissed the opportunity take in an honest to goodness match.

Tourists and of course, native Canucks, will still be able to get their hockey fix throughout the summer thanks to Le Hockey dans la peau (Hockey In The Skin): an exhibition hosted by the Summer Festival of Quebec at Espace 400e de Québec, from July 27 to November 27, 2011.

According to spokesperson Daniel Gélinas, the exhibition promises equal parts history and spectacle with numerous artifacts on display, like game-worn sweaters, trophies and masks. Classic moments in the history of our national sport, like the famous riot at the Montreal Forum in 1955, will also be honored.

In a unique move encouraging participation, visitors will have the opportunity to cast their vote on whether or not Alain Côté’s famous goal should have been disallowed during the 1987 playoffs against the Montreal Canadiens. Fun for many to be sure, but potentially painful for supporters of the Quebec Nordiques!

Alain Côté was present at the announcement of the exhibition, April 6th.
