Hole reunites for documentary premiere

Members of the ’90s alt rock band meet up in New York for first time since 1998.

Members of the ’90s alt rock band Hole are reuniting for the first time since 1998 in support of their former drummer, Patty Schemel and her upcoming documentary, Hit So Hard, reports Billboard.

Former bandmates Courtney Love, Eric Erlandson and Melissa Auf der Maur are all planning to attend the New York premiere of Schemel’s film tonight (March 28), marking the first time the band has been in one place since recording the album Celebrity Skin in 1998.

"It’ll be exciting, and, y’know, it’s a little stressful I guess," said Schemel. "I haven’t seen everyone all together in 13 years. I’ve seen everyone individually, but not all together. It’ll be exciting."

Hit So Hard, made from Schemel’s personal video footage, tells the story of the drummer’s time with Hole between the years of 1992 to 1998, including her struggles with drug addiction.

"It’s really personal stuff. I never thought of it going everywhere. But…  the story started to tell itself as each new tape was seen," explained Schemel. "I did have reservations, but each year I became a little bit more clear and more sober and less foggy, and it seemed like [the film] was a good thing to do."
