As the leading lady in romantic comedies like Legally Blonde, Sweet Home Alabama, and Four Christmases, it looks like Reese Witherspoon’s life is imitating art as she wed her real-life leading man this weekend.
On Saturday (March 26) evening, Academy Award-winning Walk the Line actress married fiancé, Hollywood talent agent, Jim Toth, 40, reports People. A prenuptial cocktail hour took place before the 20-minute ceremony at Witherspoon’s country estate, the Libbey Ranch in Ojai, California.
Her children, Ava, 11 and Deacon, 7, by first husband actor Ryan Phillippe, were in attendance, as well as Sean Penn with Scarlett Johansson, Renée Zellweger, Robert Downey Jr and his wife Susan, Tobey Maguire, and Alyssa Milano with her CAA agent husband, David Bugliari.
"He’s a family-oriented guy, and that’s all she ever really wanted,” a source said. Leading up to the wedding, Witherspoon was "very giddy," added the insider, and "excited to see what the future holds."
Witherspoon, 35, was married to Phillipe for seven years, and after the divorce, dated actor Jake Gyllenhall for a couple of years.
Witherspoon and Toth announced their engagement on December 28, 2010. In a January 2011 Glamour magazine interview, Witherspoon said of her relationship with Toth, "what I’m finding out is that it’s very comfortable to be with somebody who understands my career, but doesn’t do what I do. He’s a great guy. He’s wonderful."
