Sylvester Stallone to launch menswear collection

From Rocky to Rambo, Sly plans to dress ‘the rebel and the gentleman.’

The Expendables action star Sylvester Stallone, 64, announced yesterday (March 24) that he is launching his own brand of menswear in 2012 inspired by such masculine characters as Rambo and Rocky Balboa, reports Coco Perez.

His label, dubbed Sly Inc., launching next year, is aimed at men between 25 and 40, and will include everything from underwear, jeans and sweaters, to coats, jackets, and even watches.

He told Men’s Health Week: “I’ve lived a life where I know what has worked and what hasn’t worked. Clothing is the first step to building a character. I hope that what worked for me will work for others.”

“I really believe I have an understanding of the male psyche on all levels. I want to expose people to things that will work and this is the apropos time.”

Stallone’s business partner and president of Sly Inc, Michael Henry, said: “Rocky at the end of the day is a love story. While Rambo showcases the other side of masculinity, he’s a loner. So the line will offer looks for ‘the rebel and the gentleman.’”

After the initial launch, Stallone has plans to expand his Sly brand to include eyewear, skin care products, fragrances, sportswear and athletic shoes. The collection will be available in department stores next year.
