Hugh Jackman performs solo stage show

X-Men actor will headline at San Francisco’s Curran Theatre this May.

X-Men actor Hugh Jackman will be headlining a one-man show at San Francisco’s Curran Theatre this May, reports Female First. He’ll spend two weeks performing famous songs from Broadway and Hollywood musicals.

The actor, who rose to fame playing Wolverine in the X-Men franchise, started out on the theater stage. A Tony Award-winner, Jackman has appeared in a number of musicals, including The Boy from Oz, My Fair Lady, Sunset Boulevard, Beauty and the Beast and Oklahoma!

Now with his next film project, The Wolverine, currently on hold after director Darren Aronofsky stepped down, Jackman has some time on his hands.

"I think we’re going to let [the movie] air out a bit before we approach another director," an unnamed source from the studio told Entertainment Weekly.

Hugh Jackman in Performance at the Curran Theatre runs May 3-15. The one-man stage show will be directed Warren Carlyle with musical direction by Patrick Vaccariello, and Jackman will be backed by a 17-piece orchestra.

Tickets go on sale April 1.
