Givenchy launches new eyeshadow palette

Colorful new palette due out this spring.

French fashion house Givenchy is releasing a colorful new makeup palette this spring, reports Vogue.fr.

The new eyeshadow palette is done in the style of a ‘color block’, with nine different colors arranged in a three-by-three pattern. Rather than including shades of the same color, the color block includes a diversity of shades, including blue and green, as well as brown, yellow, white, purple and orange, all in a single mirrored compact.

The colorful new palette is due some time in April as part of the upcoming makeup collection. The versatile compact can be used to create a number of different looks. The shiny square black compact design carries the distinctive ‘G’ logo.

Rumors suggest that Givenchy’s head designer, Riccardo Tisci, may be chosen to replace John Galliano at Dior, after Galliano was let go from the Dior fashion house due to scandal, reports the Vancouver Sun.

Although no official announcement has yet been made, Tisci is considered the front-runner for the job by those in the know.

"Ricardo Tisci is CONFIRMED at Dior," Derek Blasberg of Harper’s Bazaar wrote on Twitter.

And shoe designer Brian Atwood wrote on his own Twitter feed: "So I hear it’s confirmed that Tisci is headed to Dior. Possibly with a mutual friend. Wonder when it will be announced."

Parfums Givenchy was founded in 1952 by courtier Hubert de Givenchy, Today, like Dior, it is owned by luxury goods holding company LVMH.

LVMH also owns many well-known brands, such as Donna Karan, Fendi, Louis Vuitton and Marc Jacobs. Christian Dior is the company’s largest subsidiary, owning a 42 percent stake in the conglomerate.
