Another slice of American Pie coming soon

Eugene Levy, Jason Biggs, Seann William Scott reunite for teen sex comedy franchise.

Universal Pictures is planning to reunite original cast members of teen sex comedy American Pie, hopefully for another big slice of the box office, reports People.

Currently, Jason Biggs, Seann William Scott and Eugene Levy have signed on for the new theatrical endeavor. Thomas Ian Nicholas, Tara Reid, Chris Klein, Mena Suvari and Jennifer Coolidge are all in talks to reprise their roles as well.

The new film, written and directed by Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg (Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay) will be called American Reunion.

Yesterday (March 16), Seann William Scott, the actor who played Steve Stifler, entered treatment for “health and personal issues.”

"Seann William Scott has voluntarily admitted himself for proactive treatment to address health and personal issues,” said his reps in a statement. “He appreciates the support of his many fans at this time."

His agent confirms the comedic actor will be ready when American Reunion starts filming on May 24.

American Pie, the first film in the franchise was released in 1999 and earned $202 million. In 2001, the sequel, American Pie 2, had worldwide revenues of $276 million, and finally, the third film, American Wedding, earned 231 million in 2003. From 2005 to 2009, other spin-offs from the franchise were released directly to DVD.
