Thom Yorke announces new collaborative single

Radiohead frontman collaborates with electronic musicians Burial and Four Tet

Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke is set to appear on a new 2-song 12-inch collaborative single with electronic musicians Four Tet and Burial, reports Consequence of Sound.

The two new songs Ego and Mirror are being released on Four Tet’s Text Records label, and is being previewed online this evening (March 15).

Four Tet aka Kieran Hebden previously released a 12-inch single in collaboration with Burial, and both have individually produced for Yorke, however this marks the first time all three have worked together on a project.

In a statement released about the single: “This limited surprise-release is in keeping with all things Thom Yorke: always searching for new ways to sound and to catch his audience unawares.

“Thom Yorke has been a champion of the cutting edge electronica and dubstep scenes from the start and here we see the fruits of three of the most important minds on the contemporary music scene locked together in electronic matrimony. Be quick on this one…”

Packaged in a plain black sleeve, the 12-inch vinyl disc is available for pre-order, and due for release on March 21. This is Yorke’s first release since Radiohead’s new King of Limbs album became available online last month.
