Foo Fighters coming soon to theaters

Live concert and documentary to play in U.S. theaters.

American alt rock band, the Foo Fighters, will make their big-screen debut on April 5 in a special presentation that includes a documentary screening and live performance, reports the Los Angeles Times.

The band will perform the entirety of their upcoming album, Wasting Light, in a special concert that will be broadcast to at least 80 U.S. theaters. The concert presentation will follow a screening of the new documentary, Foo Fighters: Back and Forth, directed by Oscar-winner James Moll.

"Sixteen years and seven studio albums later, with the help of Academy Award-winning director James Moll, we’re able to tell the story of how that one demo cassette turned into the band that we are today," explained frontman Dave Grohl.

"This is our side of the story. From the first rehearsal, to the completion of our new album, it’s all there."

The Foo Fighters’ new album, Wasting Light, hits shelves on April 12. Producing the album is Butch Vig, who last worked with Grohl 20 years ago, on Nirvana’s iconic album, Nevermind – back when Grohl played drums for the legendary 1990s grunge band. The documentary will also air April 8 on VH1.
