Yesterday (March 1), New Kids on the Block singer Jordan Knight released his new single, Let’s Go Higher, as he gets ready to launch his solo album Unfinished this spring, reports MTV.
The debut solo was written for Knight by Colby O’Donis, who has previously worked on music for Lady Gaga.
"He sent [it] and it was produced by him in his studio, so the production wasn’t exactly where I wanted it. But I could recognize the song as being a really good song with a great hook and great message," explained Knight.
"The tone is definitely upbeat," Knight says of the upcoming album. "I think a lot of people thought that I would do mid-tempos — Jordan’s the crooner romantic guy — but it’s not really that kind of music. I honestly prefer upbeat music. I prefer doing upbeat music. With the New Kids, I loved the ballads. I was all about ballads. I’m not really into ballads anymore."
The pop singer’s new album is set to hit shelves in May, the same month he hits the road with the massive NKOTBSB concert tour, which has his boy band joining up with the Backstreet Boys.
