Guerlain’s new anti-aging serum

French cosmetics company uses healing properties of honey.

French cosmetics company Guerlain utilizes the natural healing properties of honey in creating their new anti-aging product called Guerlain Abeille Royale Youth Serum, reports Elle.

The product intends to help the skin heal itself, which should minimize wrinkles while plumping and firming the skin and even out the complexion within 16 hours of its first use.

The serum makes use of an exclusive component called Pure Royal Concentrate – a mix of thyme honey, clover honey from New Zealand, French royal jelly, and a special Ouessant honey made by black Breton bees which happen to be free of pollutants and parasites.

The concentrate serves to stimulate the skin’s natural healing properties so that it can continually repair tiny micro-tears which cause the skin to collapse inwards. With age, the skin becomes less capable of healing these micro-tears on its own, causing wrinkles and a loss of firmness.

The new serum comes in a 1 ounce vial and retails for about $144. The dropper bottle has a subtle and sleek honeycomb shape and is topped by the Abeille Royale seal.

A natural antiseptic and antibacterial agent, honey has been used in medicine since ancient times and was a common antiseptic even up until the second world war.
