The Cars launch first new album in 24 years

New Wave band’s Moves Like This available in May.

Moves Like This, the new studio album from New Wave band The Cars, hits shelves this May – 24 years after their last release, reports Consequence of Sound

The first official single from the album, Sad Song, is set to drop sometime next month, although on their official Facebook page, the band has been offering sneak peeks at the album’s tracks since October.

The music video for new song Blue Tip is streaming now through YouTube, already racking up over 12,000 views despite being posted only yesterday (February 17). The Cars seventh album goes on sale May 10, and is now available for pre-order.

The tracks feature frontman Ric Ocasek on vocals and guitar, Elliot Easton on drums, David Robinson on drums, and Greg Hawkes and keyboard as well as filling in on bass for the late Benjamin Orr.

After rising to fame in the late ’70s, The Cars enjoyed a number of hits throughout the early ’80s before eventually breaking up in 1988.
