Rammstein announces North American tour

German metal band’s first North American tour in a decade begins May 5.

Yesterday (February 16), German metal band Rammstein announced their first North American tour in a decade will begin on May 5, reports Consequence of Sound.

The tour will kick off in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and will include three Canadian shows, two in California, and one each in Chicago and Seattle before wrapping up on May 21 in Las Vegas.

Tickets for the show, which is being produced by LiveNation, go on sale next Friday, February 25, though prices have not yet been announced.

"We have waited ten long years for the perfect opportunity to bring our full show to North America. The time is now and we are excited to share this with our fans who have waited for so long," said guitarist Richard Z. Kruspe.

The tour follows their sold-out performance at New York’s Madison Square Garden this past December. Perhaps because it was their first American show in 10 years, all 19,000 tickets sold out within an hour.

Rammstein is famous for its hugely over-the-top pyrotechnic stage show. Frontman Till Lindemann is a licensed pyrotechnician and spends entire songs engulfed head-to-toe in flames.
