AC/DC releases 1980 documentary on DVD

Let There Be Rock features one of the last concerts with singer Bon Scott before his death.

The 1980 documentary Let There Be Rock featuring the Australian rock band AC/DC performing at a December 1979 at the Pavillon de Paris in France, will be available on DVD for the first time this June.

The concert at the heart of Let There Be Rock is unique in that it showcases one of the last performances by lead singer and lyricist Bon Scott. He died in February 1980 after a night of heavy drinking in a London club, when he passed out and suffocated on his own vomit.

Along with one of Scott’s last performances, the DVD also includes rare interviews, backstage antics, and fantasy sequences. For many longtime fans, Bon Scott was AC/DC’s best singer, and he was even named the best rock singer of all time in a poll conducted by Classic Rock magazine in 2004, beating out Freddie Mercury and Robert Plant.
