Karl Lagerfeld to design for Hogan

Designer’s second collection for Tod’s Group will be unveiled at Paris Fashion Week.

Fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld has signed on to create a second collection for the Hogan brand for Italian shoe company, Tod’s Group, to be unveiled at Paris Fashion Week next month, reports Vogue.

The new collection will embody two separate "moods" – urban and sporty – and will include not only footwear, but also ready-to-wear fashion and accessories.

Lagerfeld first partnered with Hogan last year when he created a capsule collection of footwear for the Tod’s Group brand, and his sneakers became a best-seller for the label.

"Karl is a genius of style and an artist who interprets fashion in a modern way. For Hogan, he will reinterpret all the iconic elements in both apparel and accessories, which will help raise Hogan’s visibility in Asia and especially in China," said Tod’s chief executive, Diego Della Valle, speaking to WWD about last year’s shoe collection.

Lagerfeld is best known as head designer and creative director for Chanel, and he is also creative director of Fendi as well as helming his own high-fashion label. He is also a photographer, shooting yearly campaigns for Chanel, Fendi and his own label.

Along with guest designing for Hogan, Lagerfeld has also been working on a collaboration with Macy’s, the U.S. department store, which is expected to launch in the fall.
