Mick Jagger to perform at the Grammys

First time Rolling Stone singer will appear on Grammy stage.

Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger will be performing live at the Grammy Awards on February 13, marking his first time on the Grammy stage despite a career spanning 50 years, reports Spinner.

Jagger will appear alongside R&B legend Raphael Saadiq, taking part in a tribute performance for the "King of Rock ‘n’ Soul", Solomon Burke, who passed away in October 2010.

"We’re thrilled, delighted, excited and very much looking forward to Mick doing his debut on the Grammy stage, It’s extraordinary to many of us that the fact is, this will be the first time; he has never performed on the Grammy stage," said Neil Portnow, president and CEO of the Recording Academy.

This will be the second time Jagger has taken part in the ceremony in his lifelong career. In 1986, Jagger and the band appeared via satellite from London when the Stones were awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award.

The 53rd Annual Grammy Awards ceremony takes place Sunday, February 13 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. It will be broadcast live on CBS in the U.S. and on Global TV in Canada.
