Original Black Sabbath together again?

Rumours circulating that original line-up of English metal band plans to reunite.

In 42 years, English rock band Black Sabbath has gone through several personnel changes, with guitarist Tony Iommi being the only constant presence in the band throughout the years.

Fans will be pleased to know that lead singer Ozzy Osbourne said the original members of the group are talking about reuniting to record an album and go on tour, although it hasn’t been confirmed just yet.

"(We are) in the talking process… The problem that we have is that if we do an album and it’s anything less than where we left off, it’s gonna be a big anticlimax,” Osbourne said in an Australian radio interview.

In 1997, the original line-up of Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward came together for the live Reunion album. This would be the founding members’ first studio album together since Osbourne was fired from the band in 1979 for his drinking.

As one of the first and most influential heavy metal bands of all time, Black Sabbath helped define the genre with releases like the quadruple-platinum Paranoid, released in 1970. MTV ranked the group, which has sold more than 100 million records worldwide, as the "Greatest Metal Band" of all time.
