Viggo Mortensen and Kristen Stewart in Snow White?

Hollywood actors in talks to star in Snow White and the Huntsman.

Actor Viggo Mortensen, 52, is currently negotiating to play the hunter in the movie Snow White and the Huntsman, directed by Rupert Sanders, reports the Hollywood Reporter.

In this new version of the Grimm fairy tale, a huntsman is ordered to take Snow White into the woods and kill her but instead he chooses to let her go and the two are evidently chained together for part of the movie as they make their escape. Mortensen’s co-star in The Road, Charlize Theron, is reportedly in talks to play the evil queen.

As for the role of Snow White, Kristen Stewart, 20, who recently starred with Mortensen in the Jack Kerouac flick On the Road, is at the top the list.

Filming of Snow White and the Huntsman is scheduled for this summer, for release in theatres on December 21, 2012.

Mortensen is awaiting a release date for On the Road, starring Kristen Stewart, as well as for A Dangerous Method, his third collaboration, after A History of Violence and Eastern Promises, with Canadian director David Cronenberg.

Kristen Stewart will reprise the role of Bella in two-part film, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 for release November 18, and Part 2 on November 16, 2012.
