New Longchamp campaign stars Audrey Marnay

Leather goods brand features French actress-model in new advertising campaign.

Last October, Longchamp announced that the French actress-model Audrey Marnay would be the new face of its 2011 spring-summer advertising campaign, and today (January 26), the leather goods brand revealed the first images from the campaign, reports Elle.

Marnay posed for photographer Patrick Demarchelier in a setting that blends the sea and sky. The campaign features Longchamp’s new Highlights ready-to-wear and accessories collection.

As the new face of Longchamp, Marnay follows in the footsteps of British supermodel Kate Moss. The leather goods brand has explained their choice by saying: "A bit mischievous, full of life and femininity, Audrey embodies chic and charming French woman…”

Marnay began modelling at the age of fifteen and has since appeared on magazine covers such as Vogue and Elle, and in advertisements from Versace to Calvin Klein. She has been photographed by photographers like Steven Meisel, Irving Penn, Herb Ritts, Jean-Baptiste Mondino, Paolo Roversi and Peter Lindbergh.

In March 2006, Marnay made her acting debut in the role of Laetitia in Bunker Paradise. She is engaged to actor-writer Virgile Bramly. She has two sons, Amaël, 10, and Aidyn, 7.

Founded in France in 1948 by Jean Cassegrain, Longchamp began with designs for leather pipe coverings and other accessories for smokers, and had started offering other small leather items by 1955. It wasn’t until 1993 that the designs became available in the North American market.
