New album and single from Jennifer Hudson

Idol singer’s second album, I Remember Me, launches March 22.

R&B singer and Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Hudson has announced the release date and first single of her long-awaited sophomore album, reports Billboard.

Titled I Remember Me, her second studio album is scheduled to hit shelves on March 22, with the first single, Where You At, debuting this Monday (January 24).

The new single was written and produced by R&B heavyweight R. Kelly. Other writers who have contributed to the album include Ne-Yo, Alicia Keys, Stargate, Swizz Beatz and Rich Harrison.

Titled after a poem written by Hudson, I Remember Me is a follow-up to her 2008 self-titled debut album, and is now available for pre-order.

"I’m excited about this album because it’s almost like a renewal for me, reflected through the chapters of my life," said Hudson. "My fans have been so loyal, I feel like they have been on this journey with me and I can’t wait for them to hear the new album."

Hudson first rose to fame in 2004 as a finalist on American Idol. In 2006, she took on a supporting role in the movie Dreamgirls, for which she won many awards, including an Oscar, a Golden Globe, a BAFTA Award and a SAG Award.
