Cosmetics collection inspired by Wonder Woman

M.A.C. presents new 2011 spring superhero collection.

After launching product lines in the image of Hello Kitty and Barbie, M.A.C. cosmetics brand has unveiled the first images of its new collection inspired by Wonder Woman, reports Coco Perez.

Inspired by Wonder Woman’s incredible powers, M.A.C. teamed up with DC Comics to create super-sized products to reflect her mythical Amazonian background. The collection includes blush, mascara, lip gloss, and lipstick packaged in the heroine’s blue and red patriotic colours.

This DC Comics superhero made her debut in December 1941 as a "distinctly feminist role model whose mission was to bring the Amazon ideals of love, peace, and sexual equality to a world torn by the hatred of men." Based on the Amazons of Greek mythology, she was considered as beautiful as Aphrodite, wise as Athena, stronger than Hercules, and swifter than Mercury.

Make-up Art Cosmetics was founded in Toronto, Canada by Frank Toskan and Frank Angelo in 1984. The company’s products were initially specifically designed for professional make-up artists, but are now sold to consumers worldwide. Estée Lauder Companies acquired controlling interest of MAC in 1994, and completed their acquisition of the company in 1998.

This larger than life super-hero collection, Wonder Woman by MAC, will be offered in the United States as of February 10.
