Facebook movie is the big winner at 68th Annual Golden Globes.

The movie about the founding of Facebook, The Social Network, won four awards yesterday (January 16) at the Golden Globes, including best dramatic film of the year. David Fincher was also awarded the trophy for best director, Aaron Sorkin received the best screenplay award, and finally, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross received the Golden Globe for best original music.

Confirming their Friday night (January 14) wins at Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, Colin Firth and Natalie Portman also each received the Golden Globe award for best dramatic actor and best dramatic actress for their respective roles in The King’s Speech and Black Swan.

For best actress in a comedy or musical, Annette Bening won for her role in the The Kids Are All Right. Despite Johnny Depp’s double nomination for The Tourist and Alice in Wonderland, Paul Giamatti won for best actor in a comedy or musical for Barney’s Version.

Christian Bale and Melissa Leo each took home a Golden Globe for best supporting actor and actress, for their roles in Mark Wahlberg’s film, The Fighter. Although The King’s Speech was the favourite with seven nominations, it only managed to win one Golden Globe – best actor for Colin Firth.

Television series Glee was the big winner this year with three awards: best comedy series, best supporting actress for Jane Lynch, and best supporting actor for Chris Colfer.

The awards were hosted by British comedian Ricky Gervais, who managed to ruffle a few Hollywood feathers with his razor-sharp Brit wit.
