Company introduces urinal video games in Japan

Game manufacturer launches Toylets in subway men’s rooms.

Video game manufacturer Sega has found an innovative new approach to the crowded gaming market: urinal-based video games, called Toylets, now testing in Japan.

The games operate through a pressure sensor in the urinal, with results showing on an LCD display screen located at eye-level above.

In an experimental installation, four different games are currently available in four Japanese subway stations to help men pass the time.

Mannequin Pis is based upon the volume of urine released, while Graffiti Eraser measures the stream’s force, using it to erase virtual graffiti from the display screen.

Obviously targeted to a male demographic, The North Wind and Her allows the player to cause a woman’s skirt to blow up, with the urine stream influencing the force of the naughty north wind.

Finally, Milk from Nose allows for somewhat unconventional – but competitive – player-versus-player mode. In this game, the  player at the urinal can try to beat the score racked up by its previous user.

No doubt all of this will help to ensure that the advertisements displayed between games manage to catch the user’s interest.
