British actress Keira Knightley, 25, is back on the market after breaking up with long-term beau, fellow actor, Rupert Friend, 29.
The separation was by mutual agreement shortly before Christmas, according to British newspaper The Sun.
Father of the Pirates of the Caribbean star, Will Knightley confirmed the news: "Yes, they have broken up. But that’s the way things go, unfortunately. The only option is to get on with things."
"They were together for quite a long time and it is always hard breaking up. She’s focused on her work," he added. The couple met in 2005 on the set of Pride and Prejudice, and were based in London for five years before their split last month. Friend can be seen in Renny Harlin’s war drama 5 Days of August due out in theatres this March.
Knightley has just finished filming A Dangerous Method with director David Cronenberg, where she played the role of Sabina Spielrein, the real-life psychoanalyst who worked with Freud and Jung; Viggo Mortensen, Michael Fassbender and Vincent Cassel will be co-starring.
