Lara Stone stars in Calvin Klein spring campaign

Dutch model poses for a new Calvin Klein spring 2011 ad campaign.

American fashion label Calvin Klein unveiled the first images of its 2011 spring advertising campaign, featuring Dutch supermodel Lara Stone, reports Coco Perez.

The campaign was shot by the photographer duo of Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. In the simple black and white portraits, Stone poses in white ensembles against a black background.

The look is decidedly androgynous with slicked-back hair, bleached eyebrows and make-up shading that creates a chiselled look for the brow and cheekbones.

Lara Stone has also been the face of Calvin Klein Collection, ck Calvin Klein Jeans and Calvin Klein’s autumn-winter 2010-2011 collection.

Born in the Netherlands to a Dutch mother and an English father, Lara Stone was first discovered in the Paris Metro when she was 12. She then went on to participate in the Elite Model Look competition at age 15.

The supermodel is not a fan of the runway because of her unusually small feet (size 7) for someone 5’ 10” tall. Because the shoes are usually too big for her, she sometimes goes down the runway thinking, "Do not fall, do not fall!” Lara Stone was named number one on Models.com on their Top 50 List in February 2010.

The current creative director for the upscale Calvin Klein Collection for women is Brazilian-born Francisco Costa.
