Lady Gaga’s surprise NYC performance

Theatrical performer turns jazz crooner for impromptu performance in Plaza’s Oak Room.

After travelling the four corners of the globe for more than a year filling stadiums and arenas, Lady Gaga, 24, enjoyed an intimate homecoming Wednesday night (January 5) with an impromptu performance in a New York hotel bar in front of a handful of surprised patrons, reports Teen Music.

Some people in the Oak Room bar at the Plaza Hotel were probably wondering if something had been put in their drinks when they saw Lady Gaga show up in person, and take to the small stage to sing for her jazz musician friend, Brian Newman.

Lady Gaga sang two classics that night: Orange Colored Sky by Nat King Cole and Someone to Watch Over Me by George Gershwin.

This is not the first time that Lady Gaga has made a surprise appearance at the Oak Room. Last September, she also performed with her pal, singer-trumpeter Brian Newman, a regular performer at the hotel’s famous jazz venue.
