Leonardo DiCaprio to star in Superior?

American actor may have landed a role of superhero in comic book adaptation.

Last week, Scottish comic book writer, Mark Millar, 41, revealed that a director and a big-name actor have signed on for the film adaptation of his Superior comic book.

“Huge News: Superior movie just locked down most high profile actor of 2010. Official release in January…,” Millar wrote on his Twitter page.

After Kick-Ass, Wanted and soon Nemesis, which is in development for the screen, the award-winning comic book writer did not specify any names just yet. Although Mad Men star Jon Hamm had been rumoured to star, sources speculate that the “most high-profile actor of 2010,” could be Leonardo DiCaprio, 36, who Forbes reported as 2010’s highest-grossing actor for Inception and Shutter Island.

Superior tells the story of a young man with multiple sclerosis who is granted a magic wish and transformed into the superhero of his dreams. Confirmation on talent for the upcoming flick should come next month.

In the meantime, Leonardo DiCaprio is currently working on Clint Eastwood’s film J. Edgar, in which he plays F.B.I. founder, J. Edgar Hoover. After that, he is slated to star in the film adaptation of Erik Larsen’s thriller Devil in the White City in 2013.
