David Schwimmer going to be first-time dad

Wife of Friends star is pregnant with their first child.

Friends TV star David Schwimmer, 44, and his wife Zoe Buckman, 24, are expecting their first child, reports Us magazine.

Schwimmer’s representative has confirmed that the actor and his wife “couldn’t be more thrilled,” as they prepare for their role as first-time parents.

A friend of Schwimmer says Buckman is already "four to five months” along in her pregnancy, and that the couple are spending Christmas holidays in London.

The actor first met Buckman in London in 2007 where he was directing his first feature film, the romantic comedy Run Fatboy Run. The film starred Simon Pegg as an out-of-shape man who signs up for a marathon to impress his former fiancée and five-year-old son.

Buckman, a photographer, was also a waitress at the Cuckoo Club in London where she met the actor who played Dr Ross Gellar in the hit series Friends.

Eventually Buckman left her London home and moved to Los Angeles to be with Schwimmer. The couple announced their engagement last March, and were married in a small, private ceremony last June. This is the first marriage to both.

David Schwimmer acting career has been rather quiet as of late. His last film was 2008’s Nothing but the Truth alongside Kate Beckinsale and Matt Dillon. He was also the voice of Melman in the animated film Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa. In 2008, he made his Off Broadway directorial debut in the 2008 production Fault Lines.
