Swift and Boyle beat out Jackson on Billboard chart

King of Pop in third place on this week’s charts, behind Taylor Swift and Susan Boyle.

During his lifetime, it’s probably not something that would have been possible, but it must be admitted that the enthusiasm of Michael Jackson fans may have been due to the controversy surrounding the release of his posthumous album.

Last week’s release of Michael, the first album since the death of the King of Pop on June 25, 2009, will not ultimately top the charts as predicted, but rather holds a mere third place on the Billboard 200, which is still dominated by Taylor Swift’s Speak Now and Susan Boyle’s The Gift.

As well, Jackson’s album trails behind two albums with release dates of October 25 and November 8 respectively – at least five weeks before the release of Michael, which has not been able to generate enough interest to propel the album to the top of the charts.
