Adam Sandler remakes French film

Comedian plans to star in a remake of the 2004 French film Narco.

American actor Adam Sandler, 44, is planning to remake the 2004 French comedy, Narco: The Secret Adventures of Gustave Klopp, reports Dark Horizons.

Sandler’s production company, Happy Madison, will produce the film, starring Sandler as the narcoleptic Gus, a man who leads an action-packed life – but only in his dreams. In reality, Gus lives a mundane existence, but envisions himself as dashing superhero whenever he falls asleep. So he decides to make this fantasy life come true.

Sandler’s next movie, Just Go With It, will be released in February 2011 and co-stars Jennifer Anniston as an office manager pretending to be his wife. in July, he’ll be lending his voice to a monkey for Zookeeper, a Happy Madison production starring Kevin James. Also due out next year, Jack & Jill has Sandler starring alongside Katie Holmes.

Taking its name from two of Sandler’s early hits, Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison, Happy Madison has produced nearly all of Sandler’s movies since its founding in 1999. In 2007, Madison 23 was created as a subsidiary to produce dramatic films.

Happy Madison is known to use a stable of actors who are friends of Sandler’s – so we might expect to see the likes of Rob Schneider, David Spade, Kevin James or Anna Faris also starring in the upcoming Narco.
