Vera Wang to create line of beauty products

Wedding gown designer is working on cosmetics and skin care collection.

American wedding gown designer Vera Wang, 61, shows no signs of slowing down with the announcement that she will be creating a range of cosmetics and beauty products for the Kohl’s American department store chain, reports Coco Perez

"As part of my incredible partnership with Kohl’s, I will now be able to offer women all over America my own personal regimen for skin care and make-up. It is an easy, light, modern and effortless approach to beauty and creativity. Like fashion, make-up is also transformational. I love the artistry of make-up to accentuate, enhance or create a mood for any time of day or occasion,” said Wang.

Wang’s beauty products will make their debut at Kohl’s in 2012. In the meantime, she plans to launch a new fragrance in 2011 with a campaign featuring Gossip Girl, Leighton Meester.

In 2002, Vera Wang began to enter the home fashion industry and launched The Vera Wang China and Crystal Collection, followed by the 2007 release of her diffusion line called Simply Vera, which are also sold exclusively by Kohl’s.

Wang has expanded her brand name through her fragrance, jewelry, eyewear, shoe and houseware collections – making beauty products the next logical step for the designer.
