Airport security could mean longer wait times

U.S. airports continue with intrusive pat-down procedures.

Barbara Anello, a Canadian tourist who recently took a return flight from Toronto to Miami, got firsthand experience of the U.S. Transportation Security Administration’s new pat-down procedures.

On her flight out of Pearson Airport in Toronto, she went through the scanner, removed her shoes, and was patted down, but didn’t find the experience intrusive.

However, on the return home, Anello was shaken by her security experience: "They (security officers) asked me to hold up my breasts and they patted me down. It made me feel very uncomfortable. I was not prepared for that.”

"How they checked my breasts really floored me."

She said she was then told to spread her legs before security patted her inner leg and thigh.

"At the end of the day whatever we have to endure I want to ride safely, however my issues are about being groped around the breasts."

Travellers will need to arrive earlier and be prepared for embarrassment and discomfort, while the TSA takes security to a whole new up close and personal level.
