New music for December 7

Slow week for new music leading up to the holidays.

This week will be a quiet one for new music, although just a few weeks ago November 22 saw Kanye West, Nicki Minaj and Ke$ha all coming out with new albums on the same day.

The biggest release of the week is the movie soundtrack for the much anticipated Tron: Legacy. Scored by Daft Punk, it marks the electronic music duo’s first new music since their 2005 house album, Human After All.

In a good week for fans of dance and house music, Toronto musician Deadmau5 also released his new album 4×4=12 this week, his second album of 2010 as it follows on the heels of June’s At Play 3.

On the hip hop scene, the seventh studio album from rapper T.I. comes out this week. Entitled No Mercy, the 14 tracks feature a variety of big names in the industry, including Kanye West, Eminem and Drake.

Grammy winner Duffy’s second studio album Endlessly becomes available in North America on December 7, following its November 29 UK release date.

Other releases for the week include Natasha Bedingfield’s Strip Me, originally due for release on November 9 but delayed until December 7, and the CD release of Sufjan Stevens’ All the Delighted People EP, which has been available as a digital download since August.
