Yesterday (November 25), R.E.M. revealed the track list on their upcoming album, Collapse Into Now, which represents a change for the band as three songs feature collaborations with other artists.
Canadian musician and performance artist, Peaches, sings with frontman Michael Stipe on Alligator Aviator Autopilot Antimatter.
Two other songs featuring collaborators included It Happened Today with Eddie Vedder, and Blue with Patti Smith.This is not the first time Smith sings with the group, having previously worked with REM on E-Bow The Letter from the album New Adventures in Hi-Fi released in 1999.
Produced by Jacknife Lee, the band’s fifteenth studio album is expected to be released next spring.
