New York’s vibrant holiday season

The Big Apple comes alive with dazzling decorations and events.

Each year millions of tourists arrive in the Big Apple during the Christmas season to experience the city’s holiday magic

Tomorrow (November 25) marks the official beginning of the annual festivities with the famous Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, a tradition that dates back to the 1920s.

On November 30, tourists can enjoy the lighting ceremony of the famous Rockefeller Center Christmas tree bedecked with 30,000 lights and a green Swarovski star. The tree will be lit every night until December 30.

Since the 1930s, Radio City Music Hall presents its annual Christmas show with the Rockettes, running until December 30.

Many department store windows feature animated displays that will delight young and old. Holiday shoppers can take in one of the many Christmas Markets throughout the city, including Grand Central Holiday Fair, Union Square, and Bryant Park.

On New Year’s Eve, there’s one last stop to make in the city that never sleeps: Times Square, where thousands gather every year to ring in the new year amidst a backdrop of concerts, confetti, and fireworks.
