Lou Reed makes it up to Susan Boyle

Lou Reed makes up for preventing Susan Boyle from singing his Perfect Day tune.

After refusing to allow British singer, Susan Boyle, 49, to sing his song on a TV show, American rocker Lou Reed, 68, is hoping to make it up to her by directing the video of his song.

Earlier this year, Lou Reed created a controversy when he refused to give Susan Boyle licensing rights to perform his Perfect Day song on an episode of America’s Got Talent.

A disappointed Boyle returned home in tears and Lou Reed had immediately regretted his decision, and quickly made amends to the global star who was originally discovered on TV’s Britain’s Got Talent in 2009.

Reed offered to direct the video, set in Boyle’s native Scotland, of the song that appears on her album, The Gift. Boyle was touched Reed’s gesture and immediately accepted the proposal. "I loved that Lou understood how much it meant to me to film in Scotland. I didn’t mind how much it rained or blew a gale, I enjoyed every minute.

Yesterday (November 7) was the world premiere of the Perfect Day video, and you can watch the video for yourself.
