Actress Scarlett Johansson will star in new sci-fi film by director Jonathan Glazer (Birth, Sexy Beast) called Under the Skin, where she will play the role of a sexy voracious alien, reports Variety.
Inspired by Michel Faber’s novel of the same name, it tells the story of an alien that takes the guise of a captivating woman and uses her looks and sexuality to ensnare human prey. She is deadly efficient, but over the course of time begins to find herself changed by the complexities of human life on Earth.
“We’re so very excited to be working on this arrestingly original movie,” said Glen Basner, head of production company FilmNation. “How could we pass up the chance to work with a visionary director like Jonathan, especially when combined with the intriguing notion of Scarlett Johansson as a ruthless alien seductress?” Film production will begin in late spring.
Johansson will reprise her Black Widow role in Iron Man 2 for the upcoming film The Avengers, scheduled to open in early May in 2012.
