In the early hours of Tuesday (October 26) morning, around 2 a.m., police responded to a call for help at the Plaza Hotel in New York City and found an intoxicated Charlie Sheen in the company of a woman.
Officers found the actor drunk and naked in his hotel room. He said he had lost his wallet and his mobile phone. An unidentified woman was with Sheen. Various media report that it was a prostitute. The hotel room was trashed, including damage to the chandelier and furniture, reports People.
“Police responded to a call for an intoxicated male,” a source confirmed. Sheen, 45, was taken to the hospital “in the company of a female, unharmed.” The actor was removed from the scene for “for alcohol abuse and psychological evaluation” and taken by ambulance to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. He was discharged Tuesday night and headed home to Los Angeles.
Sheen was in New York with his ex-wife, Denise Richards and daughters. The actress was staying in a separate room and then escorted Sheen to the hospital. According to Sheen’s rep, “What we are able to determine is that Charlie had an adverse allergic reaction to some medication and was taken to the hospital, where he is expected to be released tomorrow.”
In response to the latest turn of events, friends and relatives of the actor mentioned in various media that he has started drinking again and are worried for his life. Just two months ago, Sheen completed rehab following his domestic violence sentence for assaulting his wife, Brooke Mueller, last Christmas in Aspen.
The film and TV actor currently plays the role of Charlie Harper on the popular television show, Two and a Half Men, and recently had a cameo in the Wall Street sequel, Money Never Sleeps.
