Bullock, Streep and Winfrey to co-star in movie

All-star cast signs on for upcoming Michael Patrick King comedy.

The superstar cast of Sandra Bullock, Meryl Streep, and Oprah Winfrey, was just announced for latest film by Sex and the City writer-producer-director, Michael Patrick King, according to Hollywood Reporter. King wrote the roles specifically for his leading ladies, hoping (correctly) they would say yes to the project.

King met with producer Scott Stuber and together agreed that a well-written comedy about female friendships could draw a top-notch cast.

King decided to aim high. “I came up with the idea of writing for Meryl, Sandy and Oprah, and it became so specific to them that I wanted to be sure I had interest from these ladies,” reported deadline.com. “I put it in front of each of them and they all said yes.”

Universal Studios describes the project as being “set in and around the world of a home shopping-type network and follows the characters as they make their way through the maze of mania that surrounds marketing, marriages and the media.”

King said he expects to have the script done by January as the availability of the actresses will be an issue.

Bullock, 47, won Best Actress Oscar for her role in The Blind Side last year, and has a few projects on her agenda, including Most Wanted and Gravity.

Multi-award winning Streep, 61, considered one of the most talented and respected actresses of her generation, begins filming the The Iron Lady next January.

Talk-show host, Winfrey, 56, has produced several films, including Precious, and voiced Eudora in the 2009 animated film The Princess and the Frog. Winfrey received an Oscar nomination for her 1985 role as Sofia in The Color Purple.
