Gaga postpones Paris concerts due to strike

Lady Gaga’s Monster Ball tour dates affected by monster strike in France

In a time of economic uncertainty, you would think a pop concert might help take your mind off the depressing state of affairs.

However, a monster strike in France has forced pop star Lady Gaga to postpone her Monster Ball tour dates in Paris, reports Orange News.

Nearly one million people have taken to the streets to protests the French government’s plan to raise the nation’s retirement age from 60 to 62, causing gridlock and gas shortages in the French capital.

Faced with the prospect of having the trucks carrying her concert gear stuck in traffic, the glam rocker has rescheduled her performances to December 19 and 20, hoping the situation will be resolved by then.

A statement posted on her website reads, “Unfortunately, as there is no certainty that the trucks can make it to the Bercy (area in Paris) for this weekend’s shows, the Lady Gaga performances are now postponed. Lady Gaga apologizes to her fans for any inconvenience.”

Just this month, Forbes magazine named the 24-year-old singer fourth on its list of the 100 Most Powerful and Influential celebrities in the world—maybe she can help mediate a solution for the French strike.
