Cinnamon linked to weight loss

 Eat cinnamon to help speed up metabolism.

 

Consuming cinnamon helps increase the metabolism of fat cells by 20 per cent, according to researchers at the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Since metabolism is the body’s method of converting food into energy, a faster metabolism helps you burn more calories.

In addition, cinnamon can help prevent cravings for high-calorie foods.

“Cinnamon reduces the desire to eat more and makes the sense of satiety last longer,” said Ann Kulze, MD, member of the Wellness Councils of America.
 
Cinnamon also slows digestive process slower so you feel full longer. Kulze recommends taking half to one teaspoon of cinnamon powder daily to increase metabolism and lose weight.
 
Add cinnamon powder to drinks like coffee, tea or hot chocolate, and foods such as breads or other dishes, but don’t overdo it.
