After receiving governmental approval, Air Transat will be offering two direct flights from Toronto to Nassau, Bahamas, starting on December 20, just in time for the Canadian winter travel season, according to canoe.ca.
Air Transat already carries many snowbirds to sunny Caribbean destinations for a break from the harsh Canadian winter, and is pleased to add a new destination for clients in search of the finest beaches.
If the experiment is successful, Air Transat may well add flights from other major Canadian centres like Montreal.
Last week, Air Transat announced it was working with non-profit organization Beyond Borders to try to curb sex tourism abroad. The airline encourages travellers to speak up if they witness any such activity.
