Paris unveils first ‘sparkling’ water fountain

From the land of Perrier, Paris introduces the first French water fountain to dispense sparkling water.

Since yesterday (September 21), the sparkling water has been flowing freely in the French capital.

The new fountain, resembling a kiosk, is sheltered by a small roof, and contains 6 taps: two sparkling water, two “normal” water and two chilled water.

The state-of-the-art public fountain is located in the park gardens of Reuilly, in the 12th arrondissement of Paris. The city plans to install additional fountains in the future, all connected to the public water supply.

Although it is the first fountain of its kind in France, Italy, the land of San Pellegrino, has embraced the concept, having already installed 215 of the sparkling water fountains.
